Candle Care

All of our candles are hand made and lovingly poured, not mass produced. Being hand made means there may be some slight variances between each candle, although every effort is taken for this to be minimal and you may not even notice. Sometimes soy wax can have a frosted look. This is one of the natural characteristics of soy wax. Every effort is taken to avoid “frosting” but sometimes it can appear after time. It in no way affects the burning of the candle. Soy wax is also designed to expand and contract. Sometimes the wax can come away from the glass vessel. It is what we call “wet spots”. This can happen all over the vessel or just in parts. Again this does not affect on the burning of your candle.

When using melts and a burner, DO NOT add water. Remove all packaging Simply place 1 or 2 melt squares (depending on the size of the top vessel) into the top dish and light a tea-light and place underneath. D’LUXE SOY melts can be used in electric burners as well, but please follow the instruction provided with your electric warmer. DO NOT leave unattended while in use and KEEP out of reach of children and pets.

The initial burn of your candle should create a burn pool that covers the entire top surface of the candle vessel. Allow it to burn all the way out to the edge of the jar. Candles have “memory burn”, which , means if you burn it initially for a short period of time, the next time you burn your candle it will only burn out to that point, leaving wax along the edge of the jar and wasting remaining wax.

Keep out of direct sunlight. Some fragrances may turn the candle a yellow colour. This in no way affect the fragrance or the candle.

Always place your candle on a heat resistant surface.

Keep candle away from flammable objects ie. curtains, paper.

Keep of out reach of children and pets

Place your candle away from drafts

Never leave your candle unattended

Trim your wick to 6mm after each burn. This will prevent your flame from getting too big and therefore your candle getting too hot. It also prevents black soot building up on your jar. Just make sure you don’t over trim your wick. This may make it harder to light and burn.

Only let your candle burn for a maximum of 4hrs, extinguish and then relight once set. Remember the initial burn will take as long as it takes to burn across to each edge.
